Automate LinkedIn without putting your account at risk

Your account keeps one address, warms up slowly, stays well under LinkedIn's limits and only works in your working hours. If LinkedIn ever asks a question, we stop.

Is LinkedIn automation safe?

It can be, if the tool behaves like a careful person. LinkedIn does not ban software. It flags behaviour: too many invites at once, the same message fired at hundreds of people, activity at 3am, logins from a new country every day.

So we built Personade to avoid all of that by default. Your account always connects from the same address. A new account starts slow. Every action has a daily limit that sits well under what LinkedIn tolerates, and the number moves a little each day. Nothing runs outside your working hours.

No tool can promise zero risk on LinkedIn, and we will not either. What we can promise is that the safe choice is the default, and that the moment LinkedIn pushes back, we stop instead of pushing through.

Your address

A fixed residential IP for every LinkedIn account

Personade runs in the cloud, not in your browser. Each LinkedIn account you connect gets its own static residential IP, and keeps it. Two accounts never share one: our database will not allow it.

We pick an address in the country you connect from when one is free. To LinkedIn, it looks like you logging in from the same place every day, which is what a normal person does.

Our browser also copies your own device when you connect: your screen size, your languages, your operating system. So the sessions we run look like the device LinkedIn already knows.

  • Nothing to install

No Chrome extension and no tab to keep open. Close your laptop and campaigns carry on.

  • One address per account

Never shared with another account, and never swapped day to day.

  • Signed out properly

Remove an account and we sign it out on LinkedIn's side and release its address.

Warm-up

A 21-day warm-up for new accounts

An account that sent five invites last week should not send fifty tomorrow. That jump is one of the clearest signals LinkedIn looks for.

So every newly connected account warms up. On day one it runs at 30% of your daily limits. Each day it does a little more, rising evenly until it reaches 100% on day 21. The weekly invite cap warms up the same way.

You do not have to set anything. The warm-up starts the moment you connect the account, and it runs on each account separately. Add a new account in week ten and that one still starts slow.

  • Day 1

    30% of each daily limit.

  • Days 2 to 20

A little more every day, in a straight line.

  • Day 21 onwards

Your full limits, still inside the weekly cap.

Daily limits

LinkedIn daily limits, set low for you

LinkedIn does not publish its limits, and they differ from account to account. Most tools report about 100 connection requests a week for a normal account. We set our defaults well under that, and we cap how high anyone can go.

Every account also has a hard cap of 100 invites a week, whatever the daily numbers say. On top of that, each day's real limit lands a few actions under your set number, picked at random, so no two days look the same. You choose how much it varies: off, 2, 3, 5 or 10. The default is 3.

Profile views, likes, follows and endorsements have their own limits too. They are what makes an account look active and human, so they are counted like everything else.

Working hours

Working hours and a human pace

People do not send LinkedIn invites at 2am on a Sunday. Personade does not either. Working hours are always on. By default that is Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, and you can change each day and the time zone.

Inside those hours we keep a slow, uneven rhythm. We open the account, do a handful of things (six at most), with 20 to 60 seconds between each, then leave it alone for 6 to 14 minutes before the next visit. Your daily counters reset at midnight in your time zone.

If a step fails, we do not hammer it. We wait a couple of hours before trying again, then wait longer, and after three tries we mark it failed and move on.

  • Always on

There is no switch to run around the clock. That is on purpose.

  • Short visits

A few actions, then a real break, like someone checking LinkedIn between meetings.

  • Your time zone

Hours and daily counters follow the time zone you set.

Who to skip

Never message the wrong person twice

The quickest way to annoy people on LinkedIn is to keep writing after they have answered, or to write to people you should have left alone. So we make both hard to do by accident.

A reply stops that person's sequence at once, in every campaign in your workspace, whichever account sent it. Campaigns skip anyone another campaign has already reached, unless you turn that off.

Your do-not-contact list takes profile links, company names, email domains and keywords, and we check it again right before every single action. Paste up to 5,000 profiles at once. Customers, partners, competitors, your own team: add them once and no sequence will touch them.

If LinkedIn asks

If LinkedIn restricts your account, we stop at once

After every page we load, we check for three things: a restriction notice, a "verify it's you" check, and being signed out. If we see any of them, that account stops straight away. Campaigns, lead imports and inbox sync all pause, and we send you an alert that says what happened.

We never try to push past a check, and we never solve captchas. You sort it out on linkedin.com, as you would anyway, then reconnect the account in Personade and your campaigns can pick up again.

Most LinkedIn restrictions are temporary. Guides from other tools put them at anywhere from a day to two weeks. Stopping the moment one appears is the single best thing a tool can do to keep a small problem small.

How we keep a new account safe, step by step

From the moment you connect to the first invite, this is what happens.

  1. 1

    You connect your account

Sign in to LinkedIn inside Personade. If LinkedIn sends a code by email or text, or asks you to approve in its app, you do that too. We encrypt your password and delete it as soon as you are signed in.

  2. 2

    We give it a home

The account gets its own residential IP, near where you connected from, and our browser copies your device. Both stay the same from then on.

  3. 3

    The warm-up starts

Day one runs at 30% of your limits. It climbs a little each day and reaches full speed on day 21.

  4. 4

    You set the rules

Keep the safe defaults or adjust them, set your working hours and time zone, and add anyone you never want to contact.

  5. 5

Campaigns run at a human pace

Short visits, a few actions each, random pauses, a daily number that moves, and a hard weekly invite cap.

  6. 6

    We watch every page

Any restriction or security check stops the account on the spot, and you hear about it straight away.

Good to know

What we do not promise

Honest limits, so you know exactly what you are getting.

  • No tool can make LinkedIn automation risk-free. We make the careful choice the default, and we stop when LinkedIn pushes back.
  • We need your LinkedIn email and password once, to sign in. It is encrypted and deleted after sign-in, and we keep only the session.
  • Codes by email or text and approval in the LinkedIn app work. Authenticator-app codes and captchas do not: if LinkedIn shows a captcha, sign in on linkedin.com first.
  • We match your country when a free address is there. If none is free, the account gets one from another country.
  • Limits, working hours and time zone are set once for the workspace. Each account counts its own actions against them.
  • After a restriction the account stays paused until you reconnect it. We do not restart it on our own.
  • Run one automation tool per LinkedIn account. Two tools on one account add up to more activity than either one shows you.

Still wondering?

help@personade.com

It is as safe as the behaviour it creates. LinkedIn flags patterns, not software: sudden spikes, the same message sent to hundreds of people, activity at night, logins from new places. Personade gives each account a fixed residential IP, warms new accounts up over 21 days, keeps daily limits well under LinkedIn's and only runs in your working hours. No tool can promise zero risk, and we stop the moment LinkedIn shows a restriction or a security check.

LinkedIn does not publish an exact number, and it varies by account. Most tools report about 100 connection requests a week for a normal account. Personade sends 25 a day by default, lets you go up to 75 a day, and never sends more than 100 a week from one account, whatever the daily setting.

LinkedIn does not publish a message limit either. Personade sends up to 50 messages a day per account by default, and you can raise that to 150. Messages only go to people you are connected with.

Start low and build up over a few weeks, so there is no sudden jump in activity. Personade does this for you: a newly connected account runs at 30% of its daily limits on day one and rises evenly to full speed on day 21. The weekly invite cap warms up the same way.

LinkedIn jail is the nickname for a temporary restriction on your account, usually after too many invites, too many ignored invites, or activity that looks automated. Avoid it by keeping volumes modest, varying your daily activity, working normal hours, writing to people who fit your offer and stopping the moment someone replies. Personade does all of these by default.

We check every page we load for restriction notices, security checks and sign-outs. If we see one, that account stops at once: campaigns, lead imports and inbox sync all pause, and you get an alert. You fix it on linkedin.com, then reconnect the account in Personade. We never try to push through a check.

Usually, yes. An extension runs in your own browser, so it depends on your laptop being on, and its activity mixes with your own. Personade runs in the cloud from one fixed residential address per account, on a browser that copies your own device, so LinkedIn sees the same place and the same setup every day.

We advise against it. Each tool only knows its own numbers, so two tools together can push an account well past safe limits without either one noticing. Pick one tool per account.
