Open the video, hit Share, then Copy Link. It looks like loom.com/share/ followed by a long string. An embed link works too.
Step 2
Paste it above
Drop the link in the box and press Download. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.

Keep the file
The video saves to your downloads as an MP4. No watermark, no trimmed length, the same quality Loom holds.

What this tool will and will not do
Public videos only
If a video is password-protected, or locked to a workspace or a company domain, a link on its own is not enough to open it. That is Loom doing its job, and no tool gets around it.
Nothing is uploaded to us
Your link is used to ask Loom where the file lives, then your browser fetches it from Loom directly. The video never passes through our servers, so we could not keep a copy if we wanted to.
Download what is yours
Keeping your own recordings, or ones you have been given the right to keep, is the point of this. It is not a way around somebody's decision to keep a video off your drive.
Now that you have the file
Everyone who watches it hears the same opening

Questions people ask about this
Is this really free?
Yes. No account, no email, no cap on how many videos you download, and no watermark on the file. It costs us almost nothing to run because your browser does the downloading, not our servers.
What format do I get?
An MP4, which plays anywhere. Loom keeps some recordings as a stream rather than a finished file, and those cannot be saved yet. The tool says so instead of failing quietly if you hit one.
Can I download a private or password-protected Loom?
No. A private video needs permission Loom has not given the link, and this tool has no way around that. If you can only watch it while signed in, you cannot download it here.
Do you store my video or my link?
No. The link is used once, in the moment, to ask Loom for the file location. The video itself goes from Loom to your device and never touches us.
Does it work on a phone?
Usually. The download runs in your browser, and mobile browsers are stricter about saving large files. A long recording is more reliable on a laptop.
Is downloading a Loom video allowed?
Download recordings you own, or ones whose owner is happy for you to keep. Loom has its own download button for exactly this reason, and this tool is for when you want the file without opening an account or when the button is not there.
Can I download a whole Loom library at once?
Not here, one link at a time. If you are moving hundreds of recordings out, Loom's own bulk export is the right tool for that job.
