A LinkedIn lead extraction tool that feeds your campaigns

Most people who need leads from LinkedIn end up with three tools. One to search, one to export the results to a spreadsheet, and one to send the messages. Then they spend an afternoon cleaning the spreadsheet so the third tool accepts it.

Personade does the middle step for you. You find the right people on LinkedIn the way you already do. You paste the link into Personade. We read the list in the cloud, in your own LinkedIn session, and the people land in a campaign, ready for your sequence.

We do not sell a lead database and we do not buy data from vendors. Every lead comes from a page your own LinkedIn account can see. That keeps the list fresh, and it keeps it yours.

Every source

Every lead source, and how many people each import brings in

Each import has a cap. Most of them match what LinkedIn itself will show you: a normal LinkedIn search stops at 1,000 results, for example, so we stop there too. If your search is bigger than the cap, split it with a filter (a location, a seniority, a company size) and import each part.

There is no cap on leads in your plan. The plan card says unlimited leads per campaign, and it means it. The limits below are per import, not per month.

Export LinkedIn search and Sales Navigator results

Search is still the best place to start. Set your filters on LinkedIn (job title, location, industry, company size), copy the link from your browser, and paste it into Personade. We page through the results and add each person to your campaign.

Sales Navigator works the same way, with a higher cap of 2,500 people per import. It needs a Sales Navigator seat on the LinkedIn account doing the import. You do not need Sales Navigator for anything else in Personade: a normal LinkedIn search is enough to run campaigns.

Not sure who to search for yet? Our guide on how to find leads without buying a list walks through picking one kind of person and finding them for free.

  • Your filters, kept

The link carries your search. We import exactly the list you were looking at.

  • Big searches

Over the cap? Split the search by location or seniority and import each part.

  • A human pace

We pause between 1.5 and 9 seconds as we move through the results, like a person reading.

Warm audiences

People who liked a post, came to an event or joined a group

A search gives you people who fit your offer on paper. A post, an event or a group gives you people who have already shown they care about the topic. They are often the warmer list.

Paste the link to a LinkedIn post and we pull the people who reacted to it and the people who commented, up to 2,000 per import. It works on your own posts and on other people's. A competitor's launch post or a popular post in your niche is a good place to look.

For events, your account has to be attending, because LinkedIn only shows the attendee list to people who are. We import up to 1,000 attendees. For groups, your account has to be a member, and we import up to 2,500 members. We only read lists your account can already see on LinkedIn.

  • Post likers and commenters

Up to 2,000 people from one post, reactions and comments together.

  • Event attendees

Up to 1,000. Join the event on LinkedIn first.

  • Group members

Up to 2,500. Join the group on LinkedIn first.

Your own lists

Upload a CSV, paste profile links or import your connections

Already have a list? Upload a CSV of LinkedIn profile URLs, up to 5 MB, and we read the first 5,000 rows. Columns we do not recognise are not thrown away. They become custom fields, and you can use them as variables in your messages. So a column called "event" or "pain point" can go straight into a first line.

Have a handful of profiles in a doc or an old spreadsheet? Paste up to 2,000 LinkedIn profile links at once and they become leads.

Your own network counts too. Import up to 5,000 of your connections. They come in marked as already connected, so you never ask a friend to connect twice.

Clean list

No duplicates, and the gaps filled from the profile

Every lead is stored once per workspace, by their LinkedIn profile. We tidy each link down to linkedin.com/in/their-name first, so the same person from a search, a post and a CSV is still one lead. Your own profile is never imported.

Importing someone again only fills gaps. If we already have their email and the new list does not, we keep the email. A repeat import never blanks a field you had.

Each lead comes in with a first name, last name, headline, position, company, location and photo where LinkedIn shows them. When a sequence step opens a profile, we read the rest: the About section, experience, education, skills, languages, followers and mutual connections. We refresh that after 30 days. We also read the company page (industry, size, headquarters, website) and refresh it after 90 days.

  • Read in your session

Everything comes from LinkedIn as your account sees it. Never from a data vendor.

  • Contact info

Email, phone and websites from contact info are only visible for 1st-degree connections.

  • Export CSV

Export all or selected leads from the Leads page, up to 2,000 at a time.

Find email

Find an email when you need one, labelled honestly

Sometimes LinkedIn is not enough and you want an email address. Each lead has a Find email button. It is a button on the lead, not a step in a sequence, so you use it when a lead is worth it.

We look in order of how sure we are. First the email in their LinkedIn contact info, which is verified but only shown once you are connected. Then an address they wrote themselves, in their About section or a post. Then their company's email format, learned from real addresses. Last, a guess.

A guess is always shown as a guess. We do not ping mail servers to check an address and we do not use a paid email finder. So you always know which emails are real and which are our best idea.

How a LinkedIn lead import works

From a link in your browser to leads in a campaign.

  1. 1

    Find your people on LinkedIn

Run a search, open a Sales Navigator list, or find a post, event or group your ideal customers care about.

  2. 2

Paste the link into a campaign

Copy the link from your browser and paste it in. Or upload a CSV, paste profile links, or pick your own connections.

  3. 3

    Pick how many

Choose how many people to bring in, up to the cap for that source.

  4. 4

We read the list in the cloud

The import runs in your own LinkedIn session with human-like pauses between pages. Close your laptop. It keeps going.

  5. 5

    Duplicates are skipped

Anyone already in your workspace stays one lead. New details fill gaps and never overwrite what you had.

  6. 6

    Your sequence takes over

The leads are ready for your LinkedIn sequence: profile visit, connection request, follow-ups.

Good to know

Limits worth knowing

Honest limits, so you know exactly what you are getting.

  • Each import has a cap (see the table above). To get more people from one big search, split it into smaller searches.
  • Each LinkedIn account reads up to 80 pages of results a day, counted in your time zone. That keeps imports at a human pace.
  • A workspace can have 5 imports queued or running at once. Start another when one finishes.
  • Sales Navigator imports need a Sales Navigator seat on that LinkedIn account. Events need you to be attending, groups need you to be a member.
  • We only read what your own LinkedIn account can see. We do not have a lead database and we do not buy data.
  • Contact info emails are only visible for 1st-degree connections. Find email labels guesses as guesses and does not verify them with the mail server.
  • Export CSV takes up to 2,000 leads at a time.
  • LinkedIn hides most names in search from accounts with a very small network. A search import from a brand-new account may bring in few people or none. Posts, CSVs and pasted links are the better start there.

Still wondering?

Not from Sales Navigator itself. LinkedIn does not give you a button to export a lead list to a CSV. You need a separate tool. In Personade you paste the link to your Sales Navigator people search and we import up to 2,500 people per import into a campaign, using the Sales Navigator seat on your own LinkedIn account. From the Leads page you can then export them to a CSV, up to 2,000 at a time.

LinkedIn has no export button for search results, so you need a tool that reads the results for you. With Personade, you run your search on LinkedIn, paste the link, and we import up to 1,000 people. Then use Export CSV on the Leads page for all or selected leads, up to 2,000 at a time. If you only need your own connections, LinkedIn's own data download (Settings, Data privacy, Get a copy of your data) includes a connections file.

On LinkedIn you can open the reactions and comments on a post and scroll through them, but you cannot download them. In Personade you paste the post's link and we import the people who reacted and the people who commented, up to 2,000 per import. It works on your own posts and on other people's posts.

You do not need to be the organiser, but you do need to be attending. LinkedIn only shows the attendee list to people who are going. Join the event with the LinkedIn account you use in Personade, then paste the event link. We import up to 1,000 attendees.

You can import the members of a group you belong to. LinkedIn only shows the member list to members, so join the group with your LinkedIn account first. Then paste the group link into Personade and we import up to 2,500 members. We do not reach into groups you are not part of.

No. Personade works with a normal LinkedIn account and normal LinkedIn search, which gives up to 1,000 people per import. Sales Navigator only matters if you want its extra filters and the higher cap of 2,500 per import. You also get posts, events, groups, your connections and CSV uploads without it.

Yes. Upload a CSV up to 5 MB and we read the first 5,000 rows. Any extra columns become custom fields you can use as variables in your messages. You can also paste up to 2,000 LinkedIn profile links at once, without a file.

Two different questions. On the law, the best-known case is hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn in the US: the Ninth Circuit said scraping public profiles was likely not hacking under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, but a court later found hiQ had broken LinkedIn's User Agreement, and the case settled in 2022. If you are in the UK or EU, data protection law (GDPR) also applies to what you store and how you contact people. On the rules, LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated tools, so any automation carries some risk to the account. We keep that risk low by reading only what your own account can see, at a human pace, with a daily page limit. This is not legal advice.
