Your outreach should keep the same hours

The best time to post on LinkedIn, by the studies that measured it
Every "best time to post" article gives you a slot in somebody's timezone. If you live in Singapore and sell to New York, "Wednesday at 11 am" is a riddle. This tool answers it: it puts the studies on your clock, for the places your audience actually lives.
We have no LinkedIn data of our own, and we do not pretend to. Every square on the heatmap comes from a published study: Sprout Social, Buffer, Hootsuite, Metricool and SocialPilot. The darker a square, the more of them name that hour. Where they disagree, you see it, and you can untick a study to see the week without it.
The short answer, if you only read one line: post on a weekday, with Wednesday the safest day, and avoid the weekend. The hour is where the studies split, which is why the heatmap matters more than any single number. Data checked on 7 October 2026.
The best day to post on LinkedIn
Wednesday is the only day every study puts among its best. Sprout Social and SocialPilot pick Tuesday to Thursday. Buffer picks Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday. Hootsuite's two summary lines both name Tuesday and Wednesday. Metricool picks Monday to Wednesday.
The weekend is the weakest time in all 5. Sprout Social, Metricool and SocialPilot call Saturday and Sunday the worst days outright; Buffer and Hootsuite say weekends get less engagement than weekdays.
So the safe default is midweek, in your audience's working day. If you post once a week, post on Wednesday.
- Every study
- Wednesday is in the best days. Weekends are the weakest.
- 4 of 5
- Tuesday is in the best days for Sprout Social, SocialPilot, Hootsuite and Metricool. Buffer ranks it among the lowest.
- Working hours
- Sprout Social, Metricool and SocialPilot put the peak between late morning and mid afternoon, local time.
The best time to post on LinkedIn depends on who you ask
The hour is where the studies split. Sprout Social, Metricool and SocialPilot all land on late morning to mid afternoon. Buffer, the newest study and the largest count of posts, finds the peak has moved to 3 pm to 8 pm on weekdays, with Wednesday at 4 pm the strongest slot. It says that in 2025 the peak sat almost entirely inside working hours, and has since moved later.
Hootsuite is the outlier. Its by-day list goes from 4 am on Saturday to 8 pm on Friday, and its page gives two different overall answers: 8 to 9 am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in its summary, and 4 to 6 am on the same days further down. We use its by-day list only.
Monday splits them too. Metricool counts it among the best days; Buffer and SocialPilot say engagement dips on Mondays.
None of the 5 splits B2B from B2C, so this tool does not either. Three of them break results down by industry (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, SocialPilot), and you can pick one above.
How often to post on LinkedIn
Only 2 of the 5 give a number. Buffer says "posting two to five times per week is where most creators and brands start to see results", and that posting 6 to 10 times a week "can push those numbers further still". Metricool, citing LinkedIn, says 1 to 5 posts a week.
So 2 to 5 posts a week is where they overlap. Fewer posts at the right hour beat more posts at 3 am your audience's time.
Why the best time to post is different for you
The studies measure averages over thousands of accounts. Your audience is not an average. A nurse reads LinkedIn on a break between shifts, a founder at 10 pm, a recruiter all day. Industry, seniority and country move the peak more than any study can.
Timezones are the biggest gap. If half your buyers are in London and half in New York, there are only a few hours a day when both are at work. Add them both above and the heatmap shows you which.
Use the heatmap to pick your first slots, then check your own LinkedIn analytics after a few weeks. Your numbers beat everyone's averages, including these.
How the LinkedIn best time tool works
We read your timezone
From your browser. Change it if you are planning for somewhere else.
You add your audience
Up to 4 places. Each one's working day is moved onto your clock, daylight saving included.
Pick an industry, if yours is covered
Only the studies that break that industry down are used, and the tool says how many.

What this tool is, and what it is not
Honest limits, so you know how much weight to give a square.
- We have no LinkedIn data of our own. Every slot comes from a published study, linked under the tool, and we never fill a gap with a guess.
- Data checked on 7 October 2026. When a study updates, we update the tool and this date.
- The studies measure what happened to the posts in their samples. That is a link with the hour, not proof that the hour caused it.
- SocialPilot's times are in US Eastern time and Metricool does not state a timezone. We read both as your audience's local time, like the other studies.
- None of the studies separates B2B from B2C. Industry breakdowns exist in 3 of them and the tool uses only those.
- Everything runs in your browser. We do not store your timezone, your audience or anything you pick.

Still wondering?
help@personade.comOn a weekday, inside your audience's working day. Sprout Social, Metricool and SocialPilot put the peak between late morning and mid afternoon local time. Buffer's newer study of 4.8 million posts puts it later, 3 pm to 8 pm, with Wednesday at 4 pm the strongest slot. Our tool shows where they overlap, in your timezone.
Wednesday. It is the one day all 5 studies we use put among their best. Tuesday and Thursday are close behind in most of them. Saturday and Sunday are the weakest days in all 5.
Your audience's. Sprout Social and Buffer both say their times are local to the audience: post at 11 am where your buyers are, not where you are. That is the conversion this tool does for you.
Add each place to the tool. The heatmap adds up the studies for each audience on your clock, so the darkest squares are the hours that work for most of them at once. The top 3 list shows the local time in each place.
2 to 5 times a week is where the studies that give a number overlap. Buffer says two to five posts a week is where most creators and brands start to see results; Metricool, citing LinkedIn, says 1 to 5.
It is the weakest time in all 5 studies. It is not forbidden: if your audience reads LinkedIn at the weekend, your own analytics will show it. As a default, keep the weekend for drafting.
None of the 5 studies splits B2B from B2C, so we do not invent one. Sprout Social, Hootsuite and SocialPilot break their results down by industry, and you can pick an industry in the tool.
The same idea does: people answer when they are at work and looking at LinkedIn. The studies above measure posts, not messages, so we do not claim a best hour for outreach. What we do in Personade is send your requests and follow-ups only inside the working hours you set, in the timezone you pick.
